Abstract

The Casio ClassPad 300 offers new opportunities for students to engage interactively with mathematical ideas. In this hands-on workshop, we will explore some examples of eActivities, which are small independent learning activities designed for this device. The main purpose of the workshop is to understand and evaluate the unique learning opportunities provided by an integrated, interactive hand-held device used in this way. Examples of eActivities will be chosen to suit the learning of mathematics across a range of levels of secondary schooling and across a range of mathematical topics, including aspects of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus and statistics. Previous experience with this technology will not be assumed.
