Abstract

This workshop explores the power of Microsoft Excel
to create interactive animations for exploring functions in secondary
and college level. Participants will learn how to use spinners and
sliders to dynamically alter the characteristics of functions and
instantly see the impact on the graphs. They will discover the opportunities
this presents for student-centred learning in the classroom.

              The contents include the following:

                - An
                  introduction to spinners and slider

 - How
                  to animate graphs

 - Developing
an application for student-centred learning of the introduction
                  to calculus

 - Some
tips and tricks in setting up and using Excel

              Participants
are expected to have some basic knowledge of writing formulas
                in Excel.
