Abstract
Two years ago I completed my master thesis (Math MEd) on comparing
2 groups of Junior College students (equivalent to high school grade
11 or 12) on their understanding of functions without using Graphical
calculator. The two groups of students involved in the study were
single mathematics (Mathematics C) and double mathematics (F Mathematics
& Mathematics C) students. On the whole, results show that there
is no significant difference in the understanding of functions.
On top of that, results obtained were also similar to a research
done more than 10 years ago. Now I would like to experiment with
my current batch of double mathematics students, with the same set
of questions, on their understanding of functions with graphical
calculators and compare the findings obtained two years ago.
