Using Graphing
Calculator in a Biostatistics Course

Abstract
We use graphing calculator TI-83 in almost all aspects of our undergraduate
statistics course. Recently, we were very much encoouraged by the
response of biostatisticians to our presentation on how graphing
calculator may be used for biostatistics at the annual meeting of
Mississippi Academy of Sciences. We would like to demonstrate and
share how TI-83 may be used in a biostatistics course. The Texas
Instruments have included a nice statisitcs package in TI-83. There
are some things that TI-83 cannot do. We will use simple programs
that we have created to do such activities. The presentation will
be a combination of PowerPoint and active graphing calculator demonstration.
