About Beijing

Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China, is in central Hebei province and the second largest city in China (after Shanghai). Beijing is the political, cultural, and educational center of the country. Beijing is vibrant with many well-known fascinating attractions, Forbidden City, Ming Tombs, Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, Tiananmen Square, and etc. The Beijing National Stadium, known as the ‘Bird Nest’ was the main venue for 2008 Summer Olympics.

About Beijing Normal University

Beijing Normal University (BNU) has a history of more than 100 years, which is almost as long as the history of Chinese modern education. The University has developed from the Faculty of Education, Capital Metropolitan University established in 1902 under the concept of Establish school, prioritize teacher education, which initiated teacher training in Chinese higher education. After several times of merging and reforming since 1949, especially in the 1980s, Beijing Normal University has moved into the new age of rapid development. About Visa and etc.

  • To apply for visas, the participant should first fill out the Online Registration form at http://www.registration.mathandtech.org/r/rne/ with appropriate registration fee and send a request to Conference Secretariat at atcm2009beijing@163.com (with the subject line of ‘Visa’ for a formal invitation letter via fax with which the participants can apply for a visa at the Chinese diplomatic mission indicated in the invitation. Participants who require an invitation letter for visa application are requested to provide the following information:

    (a) Name (as it appears in passport) (b) Passport Number (c) Nationality (d) Sex (e) Country of departure (f) Mailing Address (g) Fax No (h) Email (i) Paper ID and title if presenting a paper

    This application should be made preferably at least 90 days before departure for China.
