Abstract
This is an introductory, "hands-on" workshop using the CASIO FX-7400G graphics calculator. It does not assume prior knowledge of the calculator or of other graphics calculators. The significance of such technologies will be briefly described, and participants will explore some examples of the ways in which the calculator can be used to improve learning, assist teaching and affect curriculum development. The focus will be upon the mathematics typical of the early and middle years of secondary school, especially elementary algebra, probability, data analysis and applications of mathematics to everyday situations, drawing in part on Australian experience in these areas.
