Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to show how the powerful computer algebra system Maple V Release 5 can be used to explore and visualize with animation a selection of engineering mathematical topics in calculus, differential equations and linear algebra. Animated examples which will be discussed and shown are:
· Taylor polynomial in two variables, simple pendulum with numerical solution, a system of two and three spring-coupled masses, reflection and transmission of a transverse pulse at the boundary of two ropes of different linear density, the convolution product of a rectangular window with an exponential function and trajectory of the dynamical system described by the difference equation X(k+1) = A X(k)
