                    Abstract
In this paper, we will provide an overview of the impact of mathematics software packages on mathematics education now and in the near future. The need to link computations via the Web to software packages using Web browsers presents a unique challenge to the mathematical community. We will look at different approaches to handle, e.g., mathematics symbols, in the Web along with other new World Wide Web technology proposed by different organizations and/or individuals. We will discuss how technology is being implemented in the U.S. and how technology is being perceived in the Asian Pacific Regions.
