Abstract

In late 1998 the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers signed an agreement with the Hewlett-Packard Company, to conduct a Professional Development program for the take-up of calculator technology in India. The Project was based initially in Delhi, working with a small number of key schools, representative of several sectors of the Indian secondary schooling system. The many layers of the negotiations for the program and its final delivery will be the subject of this presentation, a topic of interest to professional developers and marketeers alike, who seek to expand or extend the use of technology in the domains of their concern, be they a local school, local district or region, state or country.
