Abstract
This workshop looks at how a simple graphics calculator, such as a TI83, can be used to develop an understanding of fundamental geometric concepts. The lack of sophistication of a simple graphics calculator, when compared to more advanced technology such as Cabri or Geometer's Sketchpad, serves to enhance understanding by forcing students to think deeply to solve problems. This is a practical workshop, making links between technology, geometry, number theory, algebraic functions, and motor cars.
