The EXPLOOT project (Exploring in an experimental ICT environment) (Exploring in an experimental learning environment using technology)

Abstract

A project named "Exploot" has been started in a consortium with several higher education institutions at the Brussels University. It is partially funded by the Flemish Ministry of Education. The objectives are the elaboration of a teaching methodology based on discovery by experiment on computer. The environment is open to allow modification of the experiments both by individual teachers and by their students if they want to generate further experiments. Programming is simple and transparent. Its effect on the learner will be compared with large control groups during the next year. The methodology offers potential for life long learning and for distance learning.
