Abstract
This tutorial will provide a hands-on introduction to the use of the HP 38G graphics calculator to teach calculus the upper secondary/lower tertiary level. With the HP38G a user can do all the routine calculations available with an ordinary scientific calculator but, in addition, can carry out symbolic calculations, manage tables of values and plot graphs. Participants at this tutorial will be given a detailed workbook and examples will be selected from the areas of functions and graphs, differentiation, integration and differential equations. Furthermore, in addition to the main presenter of each topic, the other members of the tutorial team will be available to provide participants with individual assistance.
