Internet-based courses
in calculus, geometry, and the topology of surfaces make it possible for
students and teachers to explore topics that start in calculus and continue to
grow in subsequent courses. Starting with critical points of functions of one
and two variables, we trace this theme through the Critical Point Theorem and
the Gauss-Bonnet Theorem."
