Exploring Dynamic Geometry with the Geometer's Sketchpad

Abstract

The Geometer's Sketchpad furnishes the dynamic geometry environment suitable for studying exotic curves such as the deltoid, the nephroid and the cardioid. Beyond the fundamental properties of each individual curve, the intricate relationship between the curves comprises an exciting investigation for dynamic geometry. We are to explore here the many interesting visual phenomena based on trochoids, hypo- and epicycloids and conics. The constructions are applied to the to the creation and design of the kaleidoscope.
