Data Analysis and the Graphics Calculator

Abstract

A graphics calculator offers many new opportunities for students to explore ideas in data analysis. In this workshop, we will consider some of the ways in which insights into sampling, the representation of data with histograms, correlation and regression can be supported by suitably structured work with calculators, taking advantage of the potentials for simulation and data manipulation. We will use Casio cfx-9850GB PLUS calculators, but will not assume that you already have experience with these.
