Abstract

It is proved that individual differences among the trainees in their learning abilities and previous knowledge presented an obstacle in terms of pacing the class after conducting a few classes. Those who quickly master the material have to wait for the rest to catch up. The slow learners, on the other hand, can? quite keep up with the regular pace. Therefore, it is not possible to cover the material at a speed comfortable for everyone in class. It seemed that it was more important to allow each individual to learn at their own speed, rather than covering as much material as possible. So as a solution, we thought that developing a multimedia instruction software on each trainee? computer screen, could be a good idea. Multimedia information systems are generated with the aim of not only providing information but also making the best out of pictures, movies, video clips, voices, music, etc. to better provide them. The main aim of this software is to improve the quality of communication between the instructor and students. This paper discusses the development of advanced engineering mathematics software and its authoring method. The purpose of this paper is designing and providing an applied software based on multimedia systems to describe the structures of advanced engineering mathematics. The instructional material was developed to assist trainees in self-paced learning skills needed for the subject. It allows self-paced learning by means of multimedia audio and visual information and is much more effective than the sole use of conventional textbook in helping students working in this course.
