Abstract
Grades provide a basis for important decisions about educational plans and career options. Since education is expensive, then to make the best possible use of educational facilities and student talent, it is essential that each student's educational progress be watched carefully, be measured and reported as accurately as possible. Reports of school grades serve somewhat the same function in education that final statements serve in business. In order to serve effectively the purpose of stimulating, directing and rewarding student efforts to learn, grades must be valid. They must report the degree of achievement as precisely as possible under circumstances. If grades are assigned carelessly, their long-run effects on educational effort of students cannot be good. Because of those reasons, as a teacher, I realize that grading is so important that we should devote more attentions to improving the validity, fairness and precision of grades. In my paper , I would like to present the methods of giving the final score in my lecture. Untill last year I used the traditional grading system by combine absolute and relative grading methods. While in the last semester I tried to apply in scoring by T-score, z-score and using fuzzy number in a new grading system. Finally, I would compare the traditional grading system to the fuzzy grading system based on the data score in my lecture. Furthermore, I will analyze the advantages and the disadvanteges of those both methods.
