The 12th Asian Technology
Conference in Mathematics
Conference Theme
"Making Mathematics Fun, Accessible and Challenging
through Technology"
The ATCM 2007 is an international conference that will
continue addressing technology-based issues in all Mathematical
Sciences. Thanks to advanced technological tools such as computer
algebra systems (CAS), interactive and dynamic geometry, and hand-held
devices, the effectiveness of our teaching and learning, and the horizon
of our research in mathematics and its applications continue to grow
rapidly. The aim of this conference is to provide a forum for educators,
researchers, teachers and experts in exchanging information regarding
enhancing technology to enrich mathematics learning, teaching and research
at all levels.
English is the official language of the conference.
Topics of Interests
The conference will cover a broad range of topics on the application and
use of technology in Mathematics research and teaching. These include,
but are not limited to:
- Mathematics Education using Information & Communication Technology
- Internet Technology for Mathematics
- Applications using Dynamic Geometry software
- Applications using CAS
- Applications using Graphics Calculators
- Statistics using Dynamic Statistics software
- Applications by integrating Dynamic Geometry with CAS
- Assessment of Implementation of Technology in Education
- Implementation of Technology from K12 to University Level
- Development of the Computer Integrated Curriculum in Mathematics
- Mathematics Teaching, Learning and Assessment using Technology
- Mathematics Research using Technology
Highlights of the ATCM series

- Renowned experts gathered annually.
- Published papers reviewed by peers.
- Electronic Proceedings available after each conference.
Testimonials about ATCM series
- I have learned a lot of ideas through ATCM. Especially lectures and
tutorials have helped me to know innovative information about newest
researches/products--by Masami Isoda, Tsukuba University, Japan.
- The creation of this series of annual conferences filled a major
void, it has been wildly successful since its inception in 1995, it has
brought together very diverse groups of researchers and practitioners
from all around the world, with many distinguished plenary speakers. It
truly has brought the entire mathematical world much closer together--
by Matthias Kawski, Arizona State University, USA.
- Events like the ATCM, as well as providing vital professional
stimulation and information for delegates, have also done much to reduce
the cultural barriers between the many cultural groups who have
attended. In my view, the continuing success of the Asian Technology
Conferences in Mathematics is a testament to the vision, hard work and
professional standing of
Wei-Chi Yang, their founder--by Barry Kissane, Dean of the
School of Education, Murdoch University in Western Australia.
- Wei-Chi initiated with great zeal a series of conferences (ATCM) in
Asia. The conferences were very successful. It created great interest in
IT in the region. It links the researchers in Asia with others in US and
all over the world. The impact of the conferences can be seen now among
the universities and the individuals after its first conference in
Singapore 1995. Under his direction, each conference brought to the
participants the latest that happened in IT in research and in teaching.
It is a wise move to include research in ATCM so that the two (research
and teaching) supported and enriched each other--LEE Peng Yee,
National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University,
Singapore.
