Abstract

Many 3D geometric polyhedral models could be effectively and efficiently constructed when the convex hull operation is aptly used. Applying this principle we are to demonstrated the easy way to build

  1. the Rhombic Dodecahedron;
  2. the Rhombic Triacontahedron;
  3. the Icosidodecahedron;
  4. the Deltoidal Icositetrahedron;
  5. the Triangular Cupola; the Square Cupola and the Pentagonal Cupola.
In a typical interactive geometry class it is important that learning momentum be maintained throughout. The unmotivated Cabri 3D constructions shown here will stimulate students towards the goal.
