The Electronic Portfolio Assignment
in the Professional Educator Course

Abstract

Electronic portfolios have become increasingly popular in higher education. Preparation of electronic portfolios by mathematics education students increases confidence and reflects professionalism. Mathematics education students at Winona State University individually prepare an electronic portfolio while enrolled in a teacher education course entitled The Professional Educator. The electronic portfolio assignment in The Professional Educator course facilitates each mathematics education studentˇ¦s synthesis of the knowledge, skills, practices, and professionalism gained during preservice teacher education. Examples of electronic portfolio created by mathematics education students will be provided as part of the presentation.
