Preface of Electronic Proceedings
We are proud to present the Electronic
Proceedings of ATCM 2005. All contributed papers are reviewed by
peers. The Electronic Proceedings of ATCM 2005 (EPATCM05) include
all refereed full papers and abstracts presented during the
conference.
The theme of this year is ‘Enriching
Technology in Enhancing Mathematics for All’, which describes one of
the reasons why ATCMs have been organized up to now since the first
ATCM was held in 1995. The past and present participants strongly
believe that technology has made a positive impact in their
teaching, learning and research in mathematics. The impact will be
felt by more and more people around the world in the near future.
Technological tools and enhancements will be more accessible to
users. Your research, when published and presented in ATCMs, will
continue to benefit the community as a whole.
We are extremely thankful to have wonderful
supports from the International Program Committee members and
external reviewers who have contributed to the high quality of the
proceedings. We received 99 abstract submissions (not including
tutorial, invited talk and plenary speech submissions) for
consideration. Of these abstract submissions, 44 have subsequently
submitted full paper versions for review. We select and recommend 29
to be published in the Proceedings – a rejection rate of 34%. Only
25 of these appeared in the Electronic Proceedings. There are some
high quality papers could not be included because they did not fit
into a theme of ATCM.
We sincerely thank our sponsor, CASIO, for making the
Electronic Proceedings of ATCM 2005 possible. We strongly believe
that both hard copy and Electronic Proceedings will provide enriched
resources to many students, teachers and researchers around the
world. Editorial Board November 2005
