Abstract

The graphing calculator was specifically designed as a tool in teaching and learning mathematics and statistics. Although the nature of econometric is heavily statistical, graphing calculators are not widely used as a learning tool for introductory econometric. This paper will discuss how the graphing calculator can assist students in understanding some of the foundational topics such as linear and nonlinear regression, hypothesis testing, dummy variables and time series. This will help students to comprehend the value of econometric theory and practice in addressing problems, formulating and testing hypotheses, forcasting.
